The White Ballroom
The White Ballroom is the most beautiful and well known room in the house. During the time of the Randolph's this room was used to host elaborate parties and the weddings of five of the daughters. The rooms in Nottoway all started off like the White Ballroom, all white, gradually each room was painted to give life to each of the rooms.
The Dinning Room
The dinning room is another beautiful room at Nottoway. This room was designed with Mrs. Randolph in mind mimicking her favorite flower, the camellia. Connecting to the dinning room was the Butler's pantry and warming kitchen where the food was held right before being served. The plates that the Randolph's used were all custom made and had different pictures on each plate. Click the dinning room to see one of the beautiful hand painted plates.
The Gentlemen's Study
The Gentlemen's Study was a place for John Randolph to get away and have privacy. Here he attended to any business regarding the plantation and also held private meetings in this room. This was the only room that smoking was permitted in the entire house.
The Music Room
