The Randolph's
Nottoway Plantation was started by John Randolph in 1859. John Randolph was originally from Nottoway County, Virginia. He was born to a wealthy Virginia family while Andrew Jackson was President. His wife, Emily, was also from a wealthy Virginia family. Together the two had 11 children, Ella, Algernon, Moses, John, Mary, Emma, Cornelia, Sarah, Annie, Peter and Julia. They were all taught at the plantation school until their teen years where they attended private schools. Each child had their own slaves that attended strictly to them.
The Kids
The life of the 11 kids at Nottoway was far from boring. Aside for the large area for the kids to run around and play wherever they wanted outside, the Randolph's had their own personal bowling alley. This bowling alley was mainly for the kids to play in during their free time.
